James E. “Jim” Hughes, 89, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 at his home. He was an Indiana native, born Aug. 20, 1929 to the late Emil W. Hughes and Millicent Dailey Hughes. He was of the Baptist faith, a retired Navy veteran and worked a number of years for Baugher Refrigeration in Indiana.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Simms.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Dean Watkins Hughes; his stepsons, Puggy DeBerry of Trigg County and Kelvin DeBerry and Lorie of Elkton; his daughters, Earline Hughes, Pamela Winter and Marliese Orr and John, all of Lafayette, Ind., Cecilia Tewell and Jesse of Crofton and Sue Eli of Ventura, Calif.; his sisters, Lois Jean Briner of Columbus, Ind., and Shirley Floyd of Seymour, Ind.; 17 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for James E. “Jim” Hughes were conducted Tuesday, June 11, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with full military honors.
