This shares the life and beliefs of Bernice Edward Beasley, beloved father and grandfather. He was a pillar of this community and a strong foundation for his family. Bernice passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 in Bowling Green. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully, surrounded by his family. Bernice was a Logan County native, born Feb. 21, 1942 to the late Eldon Beasley and Lillian McCarter Beasley.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Ray Beasley, and his sister, Mary Frances Lyons.
He is survived by his sister, Imogene Stokes.
He married his beloved wife, Donna Sue Ezell, July 12, 1963 and has remained faithfully by her side ever since. Together they raised their three children, Kevin Beasley, Karen (Ralph) Kuhn and Krista Thompson on their small family farm, where he instilled in them the value of hard work and perseverance. He was a dedicated employee of Rockwell International and BTR for 38 years as well as Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home.
Bernice cherished his relationship with the Lord, and was a devout member and Elder of Green Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Bernice was a loving grandfather to five grandchildren; Ross (Amber) Deaton, Morgan (Chris) Pendleton, Keb Beasley, Olivia (Jacob) Gillis and Ralph Kuhn IV and great-grandfather to Knox Pendleton, James Gray Gillis, Joey Richards and Wesley Richards. He was caring, patient, kind and our family’s true North Star, always guiding us. He was and will remain a part of our hearts forever.
Funeral services for Bernice Beasley will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Sam Romines officiating with burial to follow in the Green Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Tuesday, June 25, from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 am until the time of the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Green Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
