M. E. “Bill” Scarbrough, 83, of Cave Spring Road, Auburn, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  He was a Logan County native, born Nov. 18, 1930 to the late Ernest Gilbert Scarbrough and Gladys Alma Fuller Scarbrough.  He was a farmer, a member of the Cave Spring Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, Past Treasurer and a Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the Logan County Cattlemen’s Association.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Myrtle Scarbrough; his daughters ~ Sandra Kay Rogers (Jimmy ) and Teresa Renee Goodman (Marty ) ~ all of Auburn; his sisters ~ Naomi Collins ~ Franklin and Roberta Martin ~ Auburn; his grandchildren ~ Jennifer Kay Reed, Daniel Wesley Rogers, Tyler Cole Goodman, Cody Gene Goodman, Dustin Shane Goodman; and his great-grandchildren ~ Emily Kay Reed, Christopher Tanner Reed and Eliza Goodman. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dakota Nathaniel Tyree.

Funeral services for M. E. “Bill” Scarbrough will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 11, at the Cave Spring Baptist Church with Bro. Chris Odle and Bro. Tony McAllister officiating with burial in the Cave Spring Cemetery. Visitation at Cave Spring Church will begin Thursday, July 10, 2014 after 4:00 pm and Friday at the church after noon until the service hour at 2 p.m.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Phil Fuller, Bert Fuller, Randall Fuller, Roger Martin, Timmy Martin, Kenneth Martin, Lewis Pardue, Joe Marcum, Jeff Marcum, Steve Marcum, Jerry Haley, Buck Kinkade and Roger Price

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Gideon’s International or the donor’s favorite charity.Envelopes will be available.
