Jerry Head, 76, of East 9th Street, Russellville, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green. He was a Logan County native, born April 14, 1938 to the late Clifton B. Head and Corrine Arnold Head. He was a surgical assistant for Logan Memorial Hospital for 37 years. He was a Navy veteran, attended Living Word Church, and built and refinished furniture with White’s Furniture Shop for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Head; his daughters ~ Tammy Crafton (Wendell) ~ Russellville, and Misty Mason (Alan) ~ Shepherdsville; his sisters ~ Judy Sessum ~ Clarksville, and Deborah Chyle ~ Bucksville; three grandchildren ~ Jamie Helle (Mary), Carlie Mason and Alexander Mason; and two great-grandchildren ~ Caleb McCoy and Christian Helle.
A memorial service for Jerry Head will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 18, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Scott and Wendell Crafton officiating with entombment at Veterans Cemetery West at a later date.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home until the time of the memorial at 6 p.m.
