Ruth Laster Markham, 87, of Boyles Drive, Russellville, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab in Russellville. She was a Todd County native, born July 15, 1927 to the late Elvie Laster and Patie Edwards Laster. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Walnut Grove Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas “Tommy” Markham.
She is survived by her son ~ Billy Markham ( Linda ) ~ Columbia, S.C.; her daughter ~ Brenda Dillard (James ) ~ Ozark, Ala.; her sisters ~ Kathryn Robinson ~ West Palm Beach, Fla., Mary Taylor ~ Clarkston, Mich. and Betty Boley ~ Hopkinsville; her grandchildren ~ Jeffrey Markham, Will Markham, Christy Gannon and Jaime Atkins; her great-grandchildren ~ Jessica, Jordan, Dustin, Reece, Presley, Christian and Hunter.
Funeral services for Ruth Laster Markham will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Calvin Naylor officiating with burial to follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.Visitation at the funeral home Tuesday will begin at 11 a.m. lasting until the funeral hour at 1 p.m.
