Harry Penrod James, 84 of Penrod, died on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at his home. He was born Tuesday, April 15, 1930 in Penrod, the son of the late Bradley James and the late Winnie Baker James. He was the husband of Rhoda McPherson James, who survives. 

He served in the military for the U.S. Army for 26 years and served in the Korean War. 

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. 

Surviving are his sons Michael James of Huntsville, Ala., David James of Wilmington, N.C. and Steve James of Louisville; his daughter, Teresa Hicks of Houston, Texas; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Penrod Baptist Church with the Rev. Derrick Benton and Rev. Jerry Winters officiating. There will be no visitation on Saturday before the funeral service. The burial will be private following the service. 

The family will receive friends from 6-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg.
