Joe Cox, 77, of Russellville, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was a Logan County native, born Sept. 9, 1941 to the late Elmer Cox and Marie Armstrong Cox. He was a grocer for Piggly Wiggly in Franklin for 36 years and was of the Apostolic faith.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Cox; his son, Jerry Wayne Cox of Russellville; and his brother, James Coleman Cox of Florida.
Funeral services for Joe Cox will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Marshall and Bro. Marty Marshall officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Friday will be held from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
