Sue Carole Powell, 82, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019 at her home. She was born June 4, 1937 to the late Thomas W. Powell and Ruth Towe. She was a beautician, having been co-owner of “Sue and Carol’s Beauty Salon” on East 5th Street in Russellville. She was a member of First Baptist Church, 6th and Main streets, where she sang in the choir and served on the decorating committee. She directed the “Body Recall” classes at the old armory for several years.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Earl “Buddy” Powell.
She is survived by her daughter, Staci Noelle DeArmond or Russellville; her brother, Johnny Wayne Powell and wife Pennie of Fort Worth; her sisters, Patricia Ruth Powell and Barbara Ann Londergan, both of Russellville; her sister-in-law, Caroln Powell of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Sue Carole Powell will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at First Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Ball officiating and burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home will be held Monday, Aug. 26, from 5-8 p.m. and visitation on Tuesday at First Baptist Church from 11 a.m. until the service time of 1 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
