June Dawson Lyne, 87, of Olmstead, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 at her home. She was born in Louisville, on Sept. 28, 1931 to the late Leonard Hugh Dawson Jr. and Margaret Hite Dawson. She was a bookkeeper for the Browns Tobacco Company and member of the Bethany Church of Christ for 70 years.
She also served five terms as Kentucky State Representative for Logan and Todd counties.
She is survived by her husband, Nelson Lyne; her son, David Sciortino and wife Gerry of Nashville; her daughter, Patty Williams and husband Hal of Olmstead; her brother, Patty Williams and husband Hal of Olmstead; her sister, Annell Sciortino of Nashville; her four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for June Dawson Lyne will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, at Crittenden Drive Church of Christ with Harris Dockins officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation on Friday at Crittenden Drive Church of Christ will be held from 1 p.m. to the service hour.
