Bernice Hines Holman, 82, of Killeen, Texas, formerly of Russellville, passed away in Texas on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019. She was a Logan County native, born Dec. 30, 1936 to the late Casey Hines and Nettie Bell Browder Hines. Bernice accepted Christ at an early age where she attended Marriah Grove Baptist Church and then Luten Rockcastle Baptist Church. She was a housekeeper for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister aunt and friend. She loved sitting on the porch with her sister, Eula, smiling and laughing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Holman Sr.; her sons, William, James and Robert Holman; her step-son, Oral Meneese; her sisters, Eula Wells and Louise McGuire; and her brothers, Casey and James Hines.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Wells of Russellville and Virginia Johnson and husband Billy of Killen; her brothers, Wendell Hines and wife Mattie of Adairville and Norman Hines and wife Amy of Clarksville; her sister, Frances Holman of Auburn; her daughters-in-law, Teresa Holman of Franklin, Tabitha Holman of Evansville and Cherrie Meneese of Adairville; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Bernice Hines Holman will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with burial to follow in Townsend Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Friday, Dec. 6, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the service hour.
