Betty Starks, 84, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. She was born in Hopkinsville on Aug. 13, 1935 to the late Robert Mitchell Paschall and Addie Virginia Martin Paschall.
She was a homemaker, a wonderful cook who enjoyed cooking for her family as well as the many young men and women who sat at her table through the years as they helped with the farm work. She grew up a city girl but that changed quickly when she married a farmer. She enjoyed working in the garden and canning and freezing her own vegetables. She had a kind and a sweet spirit that even Alzheimer’s didn’t take from her. She loved to talk and never met a stranger. She was truly a gracious southern lady who loved the Lord and her family. She was a member of the Green Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Ronald Starks.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Wright of Frisco, Texas and Tammy Grise and Dwight of Russellville; her sister, Sherrill Paschall Dobbs and Robert of Springfield; her grandchildren, Tara Singh and Stephen and McKinny, Texas and Hannah Grise of Kernersville, N.C.; her great-grandchildren, Myra Singh, James Fisher Singh and Phenn Singh; and two nieces and two nephews.
Private funeral services for Betty Starks will be conducted at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Gifford and Pastor Dan Lovell officiating with private burial to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends via a drive through visitation on Monday, May 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
