Betty Sue Joines, 81, of Marion, Ind., passed away at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2020, in her home. She was born in Logan County, on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 1938, to Johnny and Lillie (Lyons) White. She was married to James E. Joines and he preceded her in death.
Betty was a member of Christian Bible Church in Marion. She had worked at Marion Tool for nine years and at the Meshingomesia Country Club in Marion for 17 years. Betty enjoyed baking and was known for her delicious bread and M&M cookies. She loved watching classic TV shows, especially The Andy Griffith Show and Little House on the Prairie. Betty crocheted and enjoyed solving word search puzzles. She will be remembered as a loving, caring, and gentle woman who was soft-spoken and independent.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Christine (Joeray Mosteller) Bunn of Fairmount, Ind.; her grandsons, Jonathan Bunn of Marion, Jordan L. Bunn of High Point, N.C., and Bobby D. Bunn of Peoria, Ill.; her five great-grandchildren; her brother, Oscar (Joyce) White; her sisters, Imogene (Ray) Morrow and Lillie Mae (Carl) Walton; her special friend and caretaker, Tiffany (Brian) Pace of Marion; her special friend and caretaker, Ruth James; several nieces, nephews and friends; and her beloved dog, Honey
She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny R. White; her mother, Lillie G. White; her husband, James E. Joines; her sisters, Myrtle Pogue, Evelyn Olynger, Viola Lyons and Margie Farmer; and her brothers, Melvin White, Willie White and Elmer White.
A funeral service to celebrate Betty's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg 42256. Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon on Thursday until the time of the service.
