William ‘Billy’ Landon Allen, 80, of Adairville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021 at St. Thomas West in Nashville. He was a Logan County native, born August 15, 1940 to the late William Arthur Allen and Elsie Louise Burchett Allen. He was a lifelong farmer and member of Living Word Church. He surveyed land in the 60’s and retired from the Logan County Road Department. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melanie Allen Mordecai.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Melba Cowan Allen; his daughter, Lana Allen Shoulders and husband Max of Adairville; his brother, Robert Ray Allen and wife Judi of Adairville; his sister, Darlene Allen Foster and husband Joe of Hopkinsville; and his grandchildren, Chad Shoulders and wife Sara of Hendersonville, Douglas Shoulders of Elizabethtown, and Anna Shoulders of Adairville; and his great-granddaughters, Kaia Shoulders, Lexi Shoulders and Char Shoulders.
Funeral services for William ‘Billy’ Allen will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Phil Scott officiating with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville. A walk-through visitation will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the service hour. Please observe CDC guidelines of 6 feet distancing and wearing of face coverings.
