Odessa Oglesby Johnson of Olmstead died Dec. 8, 2014. She was born in Everett, located in North Logan County near Lewisburg, on May 18, 1922, to the late Arthur Burnside Oglesby and Pearlie Alice Henderson Oglesby. She attended Tunstill School for eight years. She worked at General Electric in Owensboro while her husband Leander Boyd was serving in the European Theater. After WWII, she was a housewife and farmer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Leander Boyd Johnson; her daughter, Liticia Johnson Bilyeu; her brothers, Murley Oglesby (Gladys), Colie Oglesby (Mildred), and Sanford Oglesby; and her sisters, Beatrice Oglesby Brown (Shorty) Lola Oglesby Harris (Carl).

She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Johnson Causey (Larry) of Bowling Green; her sons, Russell Johnson (Debbie) and Rodney Johnson (Karen) of Lewisburg; her grandchildren, Amanda Johnson Jepson of Lewisburg, Chad Johnson (Mica) of Auburn, Anthony Fowler of Lewisburg, Charlsie Daniel (Michael) of Elkton, Matthew Johnson (Sarah) of Chattanooga, Todd Causey (Heather) of Bowling Green, Ken Causey of Bowling Green, and Michael Bilyeu of Olmstead; her great-grandchildren: Grace, Aubrie, Emma, and Addie Johnson, Will Jepson, Alyssa Causey, Kayden Bilyeu, and Micah, Mayson, and Mattie Daniel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Baptish Church (7434 Duncan Ridge Rd, Lewisburg 42256) or Russellville Baptist Church (Chad Johnson, 897 Sycamore Rd, Auburn 42206) 

A special thanks to caregivers Mary Ann, Steve Henry, Myranda and Clarisa Duke and family, and Dr. Mike Collins. 

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m.on Thursday Dec. 11, at Antioch Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Johnson, Albert Clardy, Jim Duke, and Thurman Harris officiating. Interment will be at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Price Funeral Home, Inc. There will also be visitation on Thursday, from 10-11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church. There will be no visitation at the funeral home on Thursday before the funeral.
