Charlie Watkins, age 74 of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. He was a Logan County native, born April 11, 1947 to the late Lawrence Watkins and Jimmy Richardson Watkins. He was a Vietnam Army veteran and member of the United Methodist Temple. He was an avid fisherman.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Curtis Watkins, Jerry Watkins and Roy Watkins, and hiss ister, Betty Richardson.
He is survived by his sons, Chris Collins Watkins and wife Rebecca and Zackery Thomas Appling and wife Tara of Russellville; his daughters, Cari Watkins of Atlanta and Kelsey Watkins of Franklin; his brothers, Harold Watkins of Russellville, Danny Watkins of Richardsville and Robert ‘Bob’ Watkins of Colorado; his sisters, Elizabeth Watkins of Elkton, Martha Watkins of Nashville, and Geraldine Hughes and Connie Cowherd, both of Russellville; and his three grandchildren
Funeral services for Charlie Watkins will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Fuller officiating with burial to follow in Russellville Memorial Garden.
Visitation at the funeral home Monday will be held from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
