James "Jimmy" M. Shemwell, 79, of Russellville, died on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville.
He was born Monday, July 13, 1942, in Lewisburg, the son of the late Frank Shemwell and the late Osie Allen Shemwell. He was the husband of Jeanette Price Shemwell, who survives.
Jimmy honorably served in country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve from 1965 until his retirement in 1994. He was also a truck driver for Southern States.
In addition to his military service and career, Jimmy was also a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
Also surviving are his son, Kevin Shemwell of Atlanta; his daughter, Lynette Baker (Phil) of Russellville; and his sister, Mary Jo Michael of Canton, Ga.
He was predeceased by his son, Chad Shemwell; his brothers, Thomas Shemwell and Earl Glen Shemwell; and his sisters, Sue Whitescarver, Juanita Whitescarver, Loleta Adler, Linda Reed and Sarah Harrison.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Price Funeral Home, Inc., located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg, with Bro. Kenny Chyle and Bro. Brad Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Lewisburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept, 17, 2021, at Price Funeral Home.
