James "Jim" Meriman Rainwaters, 89, of Elkton, died on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at Creekwood Place in Russellville.
He was born Sunday, Dec. 25, 1932, the son of the late Arliss Rainwaters and the late Goldie Whitescarver Rainwaters. He was the husband of Frances Beacham Rainwaters of Elkton, who survives.
Jim honorably served his country as a Boatswain's Mate in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, after which he worked as a rigger at the Jacksonville Naval Shipyard in Jacksonville, Fla.
Also surviving are his son, Kenneth Rainwaters; his daughters, Joan Peacock of Brandon, Fla. and Candy Leedom of Hopkinsville; his brothers, Nevil Rainwaters of Dayton, Ohio and Bill Rainwaters (Shirley) of Beaver Creek, Ohio; his sister, Pat Oyer of Pontiac, Ill.; 29 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Price Funeral Home, Inc., located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisbur with Pastor Easton Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in McPherson Cemetery, Lewisburg.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday, Jan. 30, at Price Funeral Home.
