James A Whitaker, 100, of Lewisburg, died on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, at Creekwood Place in Russellville.
He was born Monday, May 16, 1921 in Brownsville, the son of the late James Whitaker and the late Linnie Hope Whitaker. He was the husband of the late Marcie Hudnall Whitaker.
He was a retired order picker for General Motors, and he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
James, known as "Mr. Whitaker" by those who knew him, was well known around the Lewisburg community, telling stories about his time "in the service" and while he worked for General Motors.
Surviving are his brother, Harold Gene Whitaker of Bland, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sons, Terry Wayne Whitaker and Jimmy Lee Whitaker, and his brother, Alfred Whitaker.
A funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Price Funeral Home, Inc,. located at 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg, with Bro. Larry Eaton officiating. Interment will be in Hortons Chapel Cemetery, Belton.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, March 5, at Price Funeral Home.
