Jobie Watson, 97, of Russellville, passed away on Sept. 3, 2022 at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab in Russellville. She was born in Olney, Ill. on Dec. 21, 1924 to the late Paul A. Schneiter and Olive McFetridge Schneiter. She was a loving mother and homemaker and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and was a Lifetime member of the Alumnae Association. She enjoyed anything outdoors and loved playing tennis, even in her golden years. She was an avid sports fan and dedicated Braves fan. She also enjoyed traveling and was blessed to be able to do so.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hummer Orndorff Watson, and her son, Chris Watson.
She is survived by her son Brad Watson and wife Pattie of Franklin, Tenn.; her daughter, Lindy Kemmis and husband Rob of Adairville; her grandchildren, Carol Ann Kemmis of Greenville, S.C., Melissa Farrington and husband Joey of Lubbock, Texas, Christopher Watson and wife Sarah Ruth of Charlotte, N.C., and Sarah Rowles and husband Matt of Weddington, N.C.; eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral mass for Jobie Watson will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Ken Mikulcik officiating with burial to follow in Adairville’s Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Summers and Son Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 9, from 5:30-7:30 pm with a Rosary to be held at 7:15. There will be no public visitation on Saturday before the funeral mass.
