Virginia Lynn “Ginny” Thompson, 62, of Gadsden, Tenn., formerly of Russellville, passed away on Aug. 8, 2022. She is the daughter of the late Joe Neal Thompson and Alma Gean Thompson. She was born in Russellville in 1959. She was baptized at Liberty Baptist Church many years ago and was a Christian.
She loved collecting things, enjoyed time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Robert Yell of Russellville, Jonathan Carlisle of Woodburn and David Carlisle of Florida; her brothers, Jeff Thompson of Tenn. and Phillip Thompson of Glasgow; her sister, Pam Thompson of Auburn; her grandchildren, Saralynn Yell of Russellville, Joseph Carlisle of Auburn, Lucian Carlisle of Bowling Green, Layla Carlisle of Auburn, and her great-granddaughter, Paisley Jackson of Tennessee.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Robertson; her brother, Joe Earl Thompson; and her grandson, Cameron David Yell.
Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 18, with a Celebration of Life service at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Kirby Funeral Services Russellville.
