Anita Jo Whittaker, 78, of Lewisburg, died on Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at the Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green. She was born Monday, Jan. 27, 1936 in Lewisburg, the daughter of the late Rhea Harris and the late Flora Johnson Harris. She was the wife of Lee Roy Whittaker of Lewisburg, who survives.
She was a retired bookkeeper with the Vanderbilt Credit Union and a member of Beechland Baptist Church.
Also surviving are her son, Roy Lee Whittaker (Brenda) of Lewisburg; her brothers, Nolvis Harris of Lewisburg and Thurman Harris of Madisonville; her sister, Mildred Gibbs of Tahlequah, Okla.; her grandchild, Paige Whittaker of Lewisburg; and her step-grandchild, Heather Johnson of Lewisburg; and her step-great-grandchild, Jenny Johnson of Lewisburg. She was predeceased by a sister, Louvernia Penuel.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Beechland Baptist Church, located at 3500 Beechland Rd Lewisburg, with the Rev. Thurman Harris officiating. Interment will be in Beechland Cemetery, Lewisburg.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg,and again after 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 at the Beechland Baptist Church
