Jim Foster, 82, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the Hospice House of Bowling Green. He was born in Central City on June 14, 1940 to the late James Lewis Foster Sr. and Clairbell Brown Foster.
He graduated from Muhlenburg County High School at the age of 16. He immediately enrolled in Austin Peay University graduating with a chemical engineering degree as well as minors in physics, mathematics, German and English. He attended the University of Georgia for his masters degree. He was the owner of Foster Insurance Agency for approximately 40 years. He became a very active member of Alcoholics Anonymous Local Chapter and has been sober since 1995 until this day.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Jones Foster; his daughters, Melynda Riley and husband Mike of Russellville, JJeanette Foster of Nashville and Melanie Coleman and husband Richard of Kill Devil Hill, N.C.; his sister, Martha Foster of Russellville; his grandchildren, James Michael Riley Jr. and Meredith Riley Burns; and a great-grandchild, Claire Taylor Burns.
A Celebration of Life for Jim Foster will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 17,at the United Methodist Temple with Pastor Michael Romans officiating. Visitation on Friday at the temple will be held from noon until the service hour.
