Morrie “Sonny” Banton, 81, of Allensville passed away Monday, March 27, at Logan Memorial. He is the son of the late Mervin and Johnnie Banton.
He is also preceded in death by his son, Mitch Banton, and his daughter, Amy Lynn Banton.
He was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Kentucky Colonel and loved music. He also loved cars and fixed everything for a lot of folks and always for free. He owned and operated Banton Spreading company.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Banton of Allensville; hiw daughter DeeDee Banton of Louisville; his sisters, Sherry Lynn Rust of Elkton and Wanda Shelton of Hopkinsville; his grandsons, Chad Campbell of Allensville and Paul Mitchell Banton of Bowling Green; and his great-grandchildren, Sunny Jewell Campbell and Jensen Banton.
Cremation was chosen and a graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 30, at 1 p.m. at Belmont Cemetery in Allensville under the direction of Kirby Funeral Services.
