Louise Gibbons, 84, of Auburn, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at her home. She was born in Golconda, Ill. on Sept. 8, 1938 to the late Dennis McClanahan and Pearlie Ragon McClanahan. She was an assistant postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service and a member of the Yeargins Chapel Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by eight siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ron Gibbons; her son, Christopher Gibbons and wife Ashley of Rockfield; her granddaughters, Katlyn Caceres and husband Juan Carlos of Bowling Green and Kristin Monarch and husband Blake of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Louise Gibbons will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 10, at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Gibbons, Pastor Juan Carloes Caceres and Bro. Jim Gifford officiating with burial to follow in the Clear Fork Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Rockfield. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Sunday, April 9, from 5-8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until the service hour.
Memorial donations may be made to Hosparus Barren River or Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
