Janice Lee Bell, also known as “Jingle Bells,” 101, of Russellville, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 at his home. He was a Logan County native, born Oct. 1, 1921, to the late Exie Bell and Onie Thompson Bell. He was a very proud retired U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was a Christian and a 50+ year member of the American Legion.
He is survived by hid wife of 40 years, Frances ‘Granny’ Bell; his stepsons, John E. Sharp and wife Carolyn of Russellville and Tom Sharp and wife Charlotte of Albany, Ga.; his granddaughter, Amy sharp McKinney of Athens, Ga.; his great-grandsons, Parker and Nolan McKinney; his nieces and nephews, Barry Bell of Winston Salem, N.C., Dorinda Doss of Marshall, N.C., Kevin Bell of Pennsylvania and Keith Bell of Virginia; his great-nieces, Melissa Bell Faylen, Melanie Bell Trumble, Susan Bell, Jennifer Guarino and Zoe Bell; and his great-nephews, Ben Daniel Gabe and Alex.
A committal service with full military honors for Janice Bell will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, at Kentucky Veterans West Cemetery in Hopkinsville with Bro. Calvin Naylor officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, beginning at 10 a.m. lasting until noon at Summers and Son Funeral Home.
