James Sumpter Word Jr., 72, of Russellville passed away at his residence on Monday Aug. 7, 2023. He is son of the late James Sumpter Word Sr. and Lucille (Newlan) Word.
He is also preceded in death by his wife, Patrica Word; his son, Jimmy Word; his sister, Lilly Scruggs; and his brother Joe Word.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina Word of Russellville; his son, Michael Keogh (Angela) of Adams, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Jamie Kearney (Todd), Josh Word (Mikaila), Jacob Word (Madison), Brieanna Thomas (Aaron), Michelle Keogh, Scotty Keogh, Cristina Keogh, Makayla Keogh, Riley Keogh, Tyler Donald and Dylan Donald; and his grea- great-grandchildren, Leile & Brena Thomas, Gage Keogh, Addison Word and Finley Word.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at Maple View Cemetery in Sparta, Tenn.
