Owen (David) Ballard, 86, of Lewisburg, went to be with his heavenly father on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023. He was born Sunday, June 20, 1937 in Lewisburg to the late Orien Roscoe Ballard and Earlean Moore Ballard.
David was married to his loving wife, Shirley Ruth Grayson, for 62 years before her passing in 2018. David was a farmer, owner of Lewisburg Pallet Mill and after his retirement he worked for the Nelson Pallet Company in Lewisburg. David was a member of New Union Baptist Church in Russellville and was a long-time member of the Gideon's International.
David leaves behind his children, Lorrie (David) Hopper of Louisville, Pam Butler of Pleasant View, Tenn., Vickie (Scott) Hughes of Somerset and James Ballard of Sharon Grove; his grandchildren - Doug Hopper, Scott Hopper, Bobby Ballard, Jacob Butler, Josh Hughes, Daniel Hughes, Noah Hughes, Hannah Rhodus, Darlene Ballard, Lydia Hughes, Mindy Hopper (deceased); and his eight great-grandchildren.
David had two brothers, Milburn Ballard (deceased) and Donald (Wanda) Ballard of Russellville.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, at Price Funeral Home Inc., Lewisburg, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the time of service. Burial will follow immediately after at Antioch Baptist Church, Lewisburg.
