Tommy Kemp, 76, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023 at his home. He was born in Russellville on Jan. 2, 1947 to the late Arthur Reginald Kemp and Mary Rebecca Dawson Kemp. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of First Christian Church where he served as an elder. He was the former owner/operator of Kemp Paving, KDK Trucking and Mid-South Paving and Stone. He was the Regional Manager for Scotty’s Contracting for 21 years. He enjoyed yard work, driving his Corvette and watching Louisville basketball and football and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Becky Kemp; his wis daughter, Ashley Orr and husband Jason of Lexington; his sons, Jonathan Kemp and wife Kathy of Alvaton and Phillip Kemp and wife of Andrea of Leitchfield; his brother, Mike Kemp and wife Vickie of Russellville; his sister, Rebecca Everet and husband Jerry of Texas; and his grandchildren, Celia Orr, Olivia Orr, Lydia Orr, Madelynn Kemp, Charlotte Kemp, Eva Kemp, Ann Marie Kemp, Lucille Kemp and Luke Kemp.
A graveside ceremony at Berea Cemetery for Tommy Kemp will begin with a gathering at noon and the service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023 with Joe Hicks officiating. Berea Cemetery is located at188 Berea Church Road, Russellville.
