Ralph Wayne Wright, 83, of Russellville, passed away at his residence on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024. He was born in Auburn to the late Harold and Gladys Wright. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Harold Ray Wright and two granddaughters, Macy and Emma.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Geraldine ‘Gerry’ Cardwell Wright; his daughter, Alison Wright Baker (Keith) of Russellville; his son, Timothy ‘Grant’ Wright (Naomi) of Portland, Tenn.; his brother, Boyd Earl Wright (LaVance) of Auburn; his grandchildren, Carly Pierson (Kyle), Hannah Westphal (Stuart), Jamie Norton (Joe), Isaac, Abby and Joey Wright as well as seven great-grandchildren.
He was retired after over 40 years of serving as manager of Southern States Co-op in Russellville. After his retirement, he still enjoyed working and serving in the community, driving for First Southern National Bank and volunteering at Logan Memorial Hospital, each for several years. He loved yard sale-ing, metal detecting, and collecting any type of transportation toys.
He was a past member and president of the Optimist Club and also a long-time member of the Northside Church of Christ, serving as an elder for many years.
Visitation will continue Sunday, Jan. 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. at Kirby Funeral Services Russellville with burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Russellville.
