Minnie Lou Jones, 88, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024 at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab in Russellville. She was born in Russellville on Aug. 28, 1935 to the late Charlie Rosser and Nolie Hildabrand Rosser. She had worked part time at Houchens as a cashier and was co-owner and operator of Ballard’s Garage. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, where she worked with the God’s Care Class and was instrumental in organizing LifeSkills of Russellville.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sam Ballard and Ron Jones; her sons, Tommy Ballard and Tim Ballard; and her sisters, Elizabeth Sue Fortner and Mattie Mayes.
She is survived by her stepdaughters, Amber Foster and husband Will of Bowling Green and Rhonda Perry of Murfreesboro; her brother, Buck Rosser of Russellville; her sisters, Bettie Jo Brown and Mary Oberhausen, both of Russellville; and her five step-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Minnie Lou Jones will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Thompson and Jimmy Davenport officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
