Melanie Lee (Price) Henderson passed away at home on Jan. 19, 2024 at 84 years old. Melanie was born in Estill County and moved to Lewisburg in 1948 when her family opened Price Funeral Home.
She graduated from Lewisburg High School and Western Kentucky University and was a retired special education teacher.
Melanie touched many lives over the years as a teacher and she never met a stranger. Trips to the grocery store or an airline flight brought new friends into her life.
She loved to travel, write and make music, and woodworking. An avid photographer, Melanie was a founding member of the Sunny 16 Camera Club in Bowling Green.
She was passionate about teaching and learning and was integral to the opening of the Lewisburg Books-to-Go Library.
Melanie was preceded in death by her parents, Ryan and Dorothy Price; her sister, Ryanetta (Howard) Hall; her brother, William (Nancy) Price; and her sister-in-law, Wanda Price.
She is survived by her brother Wallace "Buddy" Price; her daughters, Mary Beth (Stuart) Fox and Sharon Anne Henderson; grandson, Nikolas (Janely) Gilliam; her committed partner, Patricia Zulkosky, and nieces and nephews.
