Shirley Herndon Gilliam, 77, of Bowling Green, formerly of Russellville, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. She was born in Louisville on July 30, 1946 to the late Thomas Beverly Herndon and Elizabeth Humphress Herndon. She worked in retail and was a member at Stevenson’s Chapel Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dan Gilliam; her sons, Michael Gilliam and John Bradley of Dover, N.H., and Tommy Gilliam and Rachelle of Winter Springs, Fla.; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Gilliam and Zachery Thomas Gilliam.
Funeral services for Shirley Herndon Gilliam will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Kent Akins officiating with burial to follow in O’Roark Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home Thursday will be held from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
