Fred Milton Stratton Sr., 89, of Homer Road, Russellville, passed away Friday, Feb 13, 2015 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was a Logan County native, born Oct. 16, 1925 to the late Franklin Marvin Stratton and Ernestine Miles Stratton. He was a farmer and member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Cattleman’s Association and an avid coon hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years ~ Elizabeth Gibbs Stratton; his son ~ Milton Stratton and wife Susan ~ Russellville; his daughter ~ Peggy Wright and husband Warren David ~ Lewisburg; his sister ~ Dora Bell Markham ~ Evansville; 10 Grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Robison, and his infant daughter, Betty Sue Stratton.
Funeral services for Fred Milton Stratton Sr. will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Doss and Bro. Gene Bracken officiating with burial in the Stevensons Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday, Feb. 16, after 5 p.m. and Tuesday after 8 a.m. until the service time of 11 a.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Gideons International. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
