James Henry “Jamie” Whittinghill, 83, of Russellville, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Greenville, in 1941 to the late Clarence William Whittinghill Sr. and Bessie Mae Whittinghill.
He was also preceded in death by daughters, Gelema Rager and Melinda Shelton; his sisters, Patsy Jo Boisseau, Wanda Lee Whittinghill Sandlin Walker and Bettie Louise’ Whittinghill Poole; and his brothers Ronnie Whittinghill, Clifford Ray , MaryAnn Gunn of Russellville Whittinghill and Donnie Whittinghill.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Croslin Whittinghill; his daughters, Gail Kennedy (Stanley) of Russellville, LaWanda Harnishfeger (Tom) of Cross Plains Ashley Higginbotham (Zach) of Lewisburg and MaryAnn Gunn of Russellville; his sons, James Clinton Whittinghill of Russellville, Jon Whittinghill (Debbie) of Bowling Green and David Lewis (Sarah) of Butler County; his brother, Jewel Edward Whittinghill of Cadiz’ his sisters, Joyce Marie Whittinghill Henderson of Russellville, Brenda Faye Whittinghill Mosley (Jerry) of Ohio and Shirley Ann Whittinghill Oberhausen of Russellville; and 22 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
Jamie loved his family and grandkids, everything outside along with golfing and fishing. He was involved with Grannie’s restaurant. He spent most of his working career reading water meters all over the city of Russellville where he met lots of people.
Visitation will be on Friday from 5-8 ...m. and from 10 am to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Kirby Funeral Services Russellville. Funeral Services will be officiated by Bro. David Lewis at 1 p.m. with burial to follow in Cedar Cemetery in Lewisburg.
