James D. Hildabrand, 95, of Lewisburg, passed away on Aug. 7, 2024, at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab. He was born on Dec. 6, 1928, in Russellville to the late Susie and Rodney Hildabrand. James was a lifelong member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He is a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korea Conflict. James worked at Southern States and retired from there after several years.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hildabrand; his sisters, Izora Mullen and Mary Ann Arnold; and his great-granddaughter, Mia Duncan Barnes.
He is survived by his sons, Keith Hildabrand (Teresa) of Lewisburg and Robin Hildabrand (Judy) of Russellville; his brother, Joe Hildabrand (Nancy) of Russellville; his sisters, Margaret Robinson of Owensboro, Bessie McElwain of Warrner Robin, Ga. and his grandchildren, Ben Hildabrand, Grant Hildabrand, Nick Hildabrand and Katie Barnes, and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 10, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church on Highland Lick Road from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. at Walnut Grove Church. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. and will be officiated by Brother Calvin Naylor with burial to follow in the Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Russellville.
