James "Kenneth" Chapman, 88, of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024, at his residence. He was born Monday, May 11, 1936, the son of the late James Elmer Chapman and the late Mayme Mae Gibson Chapman. He was the husband of Joyce Johnson Chapman, of Lewisburg, who survives.
He was a farm machinery mechanic and a member of Elk Lick Baptist Church. Kenneth was very active in his church. He spent many years as a deacon, taught Sunday School, and had served as the Sunday School Superintendent. He also sang in the choir and served on the Elk Lick Cemetery Committee.
In addition to his wife, Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Kathy Basham of Russellville; his son, Michael (Julia) Chapman of Lewisburg; his granddaughters, Brooke Neeld, Whitney Basham and MaKayla Nash; and his five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept/ 1, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg with Bro. Kenny Hardin and Bro. Chris Odle officiating. Interment will be in Elk Lick Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service on Sunday at Price Funeral Home,.
