Bettie Jo Brown, 91, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024 at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab in Russellville. She was born in Russellville, on Jan. 20, 1933 to the late Charlie Rosser and Nolie Hildabrand Rosser. She worked as a grocery store clerk, was a member of the Logan County Homemakers and was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Brown; her daughter, Linda Gray; and her sisters, Sue Fortner, Mattie Mayes and Lou Jones.
She is survived by her son, James Courtland “Jimmy” Brown, Jr. and wife Ronda of Russellville; her daughter, Rita Sowell and husband Phillip of Russellville; her brother, Thomas “Buck” Rosser of Russellville; her sister, Mary Oberhausen of Russellville; and 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Bettie Jo Brown will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Bro. William Gray and Bro. Mike Brady officiating with burial to follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Sunday, Nov. 10, from 5-8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until the service hour.
