Ralph Smith, 94, of Quality, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, at Hospice of Southern Kentucky, Inc. in Bowling Green. He was born in Oak Ridge in Butler County on Saturday, April 5, 1930, the son of the late Mack Neely Smith and the late Flora Hunt Smith.
Ralph was a jack-of-all-trades. He drove a truck, worked construction, and was a farmer. Ralph wasn't afraid of work and did what was needed to provide for his family. He was also a dedicated member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
He was also a veteran, having honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. During his time in service, Ralph traveled to not only Korea, but also all over the United States, Greenland, and Japan.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 73 years, Doris Smith of Quality; his daughters, Carole Jean Skipworth of Allegre and Amy Lynn (Tom) Blancett of Lewisburg; his son, David Stanley (Shirley) Smith of Russellville; his brothers, Donnie (Mildred) Smith of Lewisburg and Raymond (Sandra) Smith of Greeneville, Tenn.; and his six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Eldred "E.L." Smith, Dewey Smith, Wesley Smith, and Myron Smith; his sisters, Alta Bates, Jessie Smith, and Pauline Smith; his granddaughter, Leslie Grise; and his son-in-law, Roger Skipworth.
His funeral service will be at 2 p.m/ on Sunday, Dec. 15, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., located at 252 E. Green Street, Lewisburg, with Bro. Raleigh Blancett officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at Price Funeral Home.
