James Nolen Prather, 71, of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, at Med Center Health in Bowling Green. He was born Wednesday, July 29, 1953, the son of the late Jack Prather and the late Virginia Powell Prather. He was the husband of the late Carole Moore.
He was a correctional officer at Green River Correctional Complex and a veteran, having honorably served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his stepdaughter, Jennifer Moore (Grant Kitchens) of Lewisburg; his stepson, Jeff Pulley of Lewisburg; his sister, Mary Prather of Russellville; his brother, Donald Prather of Columbus, Miss.; his grandson, Brylin Gregory of Lewisburg; his granddaughter, Allie Kitchens of Lewisburg; his nephew, Chris Prather of Auburn, and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Prather; his stepson, Timmy Pulley, and his stepdaughter, Tammy Moore.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Smith Cemetery located at 128 Anderson Store Road, Russellville, Ky. 42276 with Bro. Chris Phillips and Jeff Pulley officiating.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jeff Pulley, Brylin Gregory, Grant Kitchens, Kris Tibbles, Chris Phillips, Chris Prather, Jason Whittinghill, Donald Prather, Tony Morgan and Allie Kitchens.
