Rev. Thomas E. Lawhon, 88, of Fugate Avenue, Adairville, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at his home. He was born in Grider, Ky. on March 19, 1926 to the late Thomas Jefferson Lawhon and Lucy Alexander Lawhon. He was a Southern Baptist Minister, pastoring nine churches and serving as interim in several other churches. He was a US Army World War II veteran and a graduate of Bellmont University.
He was also a member of the Adairville Baptist Church and an avid woodworker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Manella Costello Lawhon.
He is survived by his sons ~ John Mark Lawhon and wife Kathy ~ Savannah, Ga. and Daniel Edward Lawhon and wife Sherrie ~ Birmingham, Ala.; his daughters ~ Linda Carol Lawhon ~ Springfield, Tenn. and Beverly Sue Lawhon ~ Nashville, Tenn.; his sisters ~ Brenda Garmon ~ Marrowbone, Ky. and Virginia Alexander ~ Glasgow; his grandsons ~ Brandon Mark Lawhon andJoshua Ryan Lawhon.
Funeral Services for Rev. Thomas E. Lawhon will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Freudenthal and Bro. Mark Bond with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, March 13, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and after 8 a.m. on Saturday until the funeral hour of 2 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Adairville Baptist Church or the Gideons International. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
