Betty Shanklin, 88, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. She was born in Scottsville, on Nov/ 19, 1936, to the late Chester Uhles and Lizzie Grant Uhles. She retired from Emerson Electric and was a member of Southern Heights Baptist Church, where she served 40 years as a Sunday School teacher. She loved her flowers and gardening.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Edward Shanklin.
She is survived by her daughter, Loretta Harper and husband Jimmy of Russellville; her brother, Lloyd Uhles of Bowling Green; her sisters, Francis Fraley of Indiana and Pat Johnson and Carolyn Gant, both of Elkton; her grandchildren, Holly Shelton and husband Phillip and Jennifer Partin and husband Danny; and her great-grandchild, Kash Wallace.
Funeral services for Betty Shanklin will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Alexander officiating with burial to follow in Stevenson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Saturday will be held from 11 a.m. until the service hour of 2 p.m.
