Joe A. Webb, 71, of Circle Drive, Russellville, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. He was born in Portland, Tenn. on Nov. 23, 1943 to James Webb and Marguerite Brown Webb.
He was a retired Lt. Colonel with the U.S. Marine Corps and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a graduate of Austin Peay State University, of the Presbyterian faith, a member of the VFW Post 29, and an avid golfer.
He is survived by his mother ~ Marguerite Webb ~ Madison, Tenn.; his wife ~ Linda Webb; his daughter ~ Beverly Hall and husband Kevin ~ Elkton; his brother ~ Rick Webb and wife, Cindy ~ Pleasant View, Tenn.; his sister ~ Pam Stewart and husband Gary ~ Hendersonville; his granddaughter ~ Ashley M. Smith ~ Bowling Green; his grandson ~ Cameron Cox ~ Bowling Green; six step-grandchildren; his great-grandson ~ Cam’ron Smith ~ Bowling Green; nine step-great-grandchildren; and his step-great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Webb, and his sister, Beverly Brown.
Funeral services for Joe A. Webb will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. Proctor Chambless officiating. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Friday, March 20, from 5-8 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Saturday until the funeral hour of 1 p.m.
