Linda Ann Slaton, 83, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. She was born in Russellville on Nov. 26, 1941 to the late Willie Rayburn Akin and Dorsie Pearl Webster Akin.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Southern States for many years and was also employed by the Logan County Visitor Center and the Logan County Animal Clinic. She was a charter member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and volunteered at Logan Memorial Hospital. She was an Avon representative and a member of the Red Hat Society.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell N. Slaton; her son, Stanley Slaton; and her grandson Caleb Slaton.
She is survived by her sons, Stewart Slaton and wife Dawn of Bowling Green and Shawn Wendell Slaton, also of Bowling Green; her daughter. Sheila Cunningham and husband Scott of Russellville; her daughter-in-law, Kandi Slaton of Russellville; her sister. Charlene Piper of Russellville; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Slaton of Russellville; her eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Don Williams of Epley Station.
Funeral services for Linda Ann Slaton will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Chyle officiating and burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, from 5-8 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service at 2.
