David Lee Clayton, 60, of Russellville, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at the Medical Center of Russellville.  He was born on July 13, 1964 , to the late Alonzo Clayton and Marie Clayton. He is also preceded in death by a host of siblings.

David is survived by his wife, Debra Sue Clayton of Russellville; his daughters, Denisha Clayton, Brandy Clayton, Diane Griffin and Monica Brown (Jason), all of Bowling Green; his sisters, Betty Sydnor (Jason) of Olmstead, Nadine Hibbitt of Bowling Green, Vernie Hayden (David) of Park City, and Stella Cross (Vick) of Allensville; his brothers, Jimmy Clayton (Wanda Sue) of Olmstead, Anthony Clayton (Jennifer) of Bowling Green and Clifton Clayton of Russellville, Vernie Hayden (David) of Park City, Wayne Clayton of Atlanta, and Lee Bradshaw of Olmstead; his sisters-in-law, Lillian Wynn (Robert) of Russellville, Nannette Denouden (John) of Seattle, June Rhea Lewis of Russellville, Melissa Posey of Nashville, and Birdie Marable of Russellville; his brother-in-law, James “Goat” Posey of Russellville; his grandchildren, Darian Griffin, Yuri Griffin, Logan Brown, Norah Ward,  Miavah Perez; his great-grandchild, Zariah Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David was retired as a Captain with the Logan County Detention Center and member of Mariah Grove Baptist Church in Adairville.  He loved his family, spending lots of time with the grandchildren. He loved to hunt and fish in his spare time when not with family. 

Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, in the chapel of Kirby Funeral Services Russellville with Pastor Colby Barnett officiating services at 1 p.m. with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Russellville. Food for the repass can be brought to Kirby Funeral Services Russellville, which will be after the cemetery.
