Franklin D. Barnes, 79, of Russellville, formerly of Adairville. passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at his residence. He was born Sept. 23, 1945, to the late George Frances Barnes and Anna Pearl Barnes. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sue Carolyn Barnes of Russellville; his sons, Joseph Barnes (Angel) of Reno, Nevada and Anthony Barnes of Charleston, S. C.; his daughter, Leslie Martin (Matt) of Russellville; his brother, John Lee Barnes (Shirley) of Adairville; his sister, George Ann Lashlee of Nashville; and his grandchildren, Brittany Martin, Baylee Martin and Lindsey Barnes.

Franklin retired as a teacher with the Logan County Schools after 32 years. He loved his family and spending time with his granddaughters.  He was also a member of the Adairville Church of Christ and Crittenden Drive Church of Christ. 

Visitation will be Sunday, March 16, from noon to 2 p.m. in the chapel of Kirby Funeral Services Russellville with Bro. Scott Harp and Bro. Flint Redwine officiating services at 2 with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers: John Mason Barnes, Jeff Lashlee, James Lashlee, John Dempsey, Jeff Dempsey, and Matt Martin.
