Dorothy Keeton Hindman, 91, of East 10th Street, Russellville, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at her home. She was born in Owensboro, on Jan. 17, 1924 to the late Henry Frank Keeton and Nettie Ellen Keeton.
She was an educator with the Owensboro School system and the Russellville Independent School system. She was a graduate of Georgetown College and obtained her Masters Degree from Peabody College. She was a member of the Russellville Garden Club and First Baptist Church where she was involved in the WMU and was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Bob Wood Hindman.
Mrs. Hindman is survived by her son ~ Stephen Hindman and wife Michelle ~ Russellville; her daughters ~ Susan Hindman Watson ~ North Carolina, and Sarah Hindman Summers and husband Tommy ~ Brentwood, Tenn.; her grandchildren ~ Christopher Watson and wife Sarah Ruth, Sarah Watson Rowles and husband Matt,Joshua Hindman and wife Trista, Katie Hindman Gilliam and husband Luke, Jonathan Hindman, Sarah Beth Summers and Ben Summers, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dorothy Keeton Hindman will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, at the First Baptist Church, Sixth and Main Street, with Bro. Eugene Reynolds officiating with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the church Sunday will begin at 1 p.m. and last until the service hour of 3 p.m.
