Joy L. O’Daniel, 76, of Russellville, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at her home in Russellville. She was born on Jan. 22, 1949, to the late Millard Lee and Dora Sisk Kennedy.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James O’Daniel, and her brothers, Speedy Kennedy, Jake Kennedy and Robey Kennedy.
She is survived by her son, Robert Taylor (Jessica) of Michie, Tenn.; her daughters, Terri Kelter (Jason) and Lisa Hale, all of Russellville; her brothers, Daniel Kennedy (Susan) of Louisville and Bobby Joe Kennedy of Russellville; her grandchildren, Saxon Hale, Eric Hale, Taylor Oates, and Tanner Chapman; her great-grandchildren, Branson Beadnell, Kelcie Taylor and Nathan Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
Joy owned and operated Granny’s Kitchen in Russellville for many years. She loved to go thrifting and shopping along with making crafts and painting. She always was helping others in need and loved doing so. She adored her time with her grandchildren, cherishing those moments.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 27, in the chapel of Kirby Funeral Services from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11a.m. to 12. Mike Daughtry will officiate services at noon on Wednesday with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
