James Samuel Hines, 71, of Dennis Corinth Road, Auburn, Kentucky passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was born in Franklin, on Aug. 9, 1943 to the late James Thomas Hines and Frances Pearl McElwain Hines. He was a heavy equipment mechanic operator for Howlett Chevrolet, a U.S. Army veteran and member of New Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cathy Hines; his son ~ James Michael Hines and wife Sheila ~ Auburn; his two daughters ~ Sharon Cox ~ Russellville, and Connie Stewart ~ Auburn; his brother, Elmer Hines and wife Linda ~ Auburn his sister ~ Jean Manning ~ Bowling Green; his 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Duncan, and his brothers, L.C. Hines, Doug Hines, Earl Hines and Wayne Hines.
Funeral services for James Samuel Hines will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Belcher and Bro. Dennis Ellis officiating with burial in Auburn Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday, April 1, from 5-8 p.m. and after 8:00 am on Thursday until the service hour of 2 p.m.
