Donnie Preston Smith, 93 of Lewisburg, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Hospice House of Southern KY in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
He was born Thursday, Feb. 4, 1932, the son of the late Mack Smith and the late Flora Hunt Smith. He was the husband of Mildred Smith of Lewisburg who survives.
He was a truck driver for Southern States and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Donnie honorably served his country with pride in the United States Air Force. His dedication to duty was recognized through various commendations, including the Armed Forces Service Medal, the United Nations Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Also surviving are hs daughters, Rhonda Hinton of Hartford and Cheri Pugh of Hopkinsville; his son, Ricky (Annette) Smith of Greenville; his brother, Raymond (Sandra) Smith of Greenville; his granddaughters, Kelsey (Josh) Smith of Beaver Dam, Rebecca (Andy) Burden of Jacksonville and Darby (Josh) Pulley of Clarksville; his grandsons, Bradey (Rachel) Hinton of Morgantown and Brett (Baleigh) Pugh of Hopkinsville; his great-granddaughters, Parker Pulley of Clarksville, Hallie Pulley of Clarksville and Eden Hinton of Morgantown; and his great-grandsons, Joel Smith of Beaver Dam and Jude Smith of Beaver Dam and Ezra Hinton of Morgantown.
He was predeceased by his sons-in-law, Jay Pugh and Mich Hinton; his brothers, Eldred "E.L." Smith, Eugene Ralph Smith, Dewey Smith, Wesley Smith and Myron Smith; and his sisters, Alta Bates, Jessie Smith, and Pauline Smith.
A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, at Price Funeral Home, Inc.. located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg, with Bro. Tim Nugent and granddaughter, Kelsey Smith officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m until the time of the service on Sunday at Price Funeral Home, Inc.
