John E. Garrett, 65, of Lafayette Drive Russellville, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was born in Greenville, on Oct. 17, 1949 to the late Estil Forrest Garrett and Audrey Elizabeth Hudgins Garrett. He was a scheduler for Fluor Daniels and owner/
operator of Motor & Electric.
He was a member of Dripping Spring Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher for 40 years. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty Garrett; his son ~ Rick Garrett and wife Melinda ~ Adairville; his daughter ~ Rhonda Wood and husband Jason ~ Russellville; his brother ~ Jim Garrett and wife Pam ~ Lexington; his sisters ~ Becky Hendrix and husband Charles ~ Linden, Tenn. and Mary Garrott and husband Don ~ LaVergne, Tenn.; and his grandchildren ~ Jacob Wood, Brittany Garrett, Blake Wood, Ali Garrett and Haleigh Wood.
Funeral services for John E. Garrett will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, at Dripping Spring Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Noffsinger, Bro. Mike Stacey and Bro. Jered Patrick officiating with burial in the Russellville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation at Dripping Spring Baptist Church will be Tuesday, April 7, from 5-8 p.m. and at the church Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1 p.m.
